Description
The BP2SBEU European Earth Bonding Plug incorporates 2 x shrouded safety banana sockets, 1 x 10mm male stud and a 1 meg-ohm resistor for grounding cord connection. Grounding cords can be connected to the Earth plug via the female stud at one end of the cord to a male stud on an Earth plug.
ESD Earth Bonding Plugs offer a simple and easy method of grounding. They are used for connecting ESD wrist wraps and Earth leads to mains Earth. The BP2SBEU plug is designed to fit an EU standard mains plug outlet. The Earth pin is metal for guaranteed safety. The neutral and mains voltage pins are plastic.
This plug is designed to be used with our range of ESD grounding cords. For all-purpose use, see our universal grounding cord. Each plug is made with a high-build quality. Available in yellow as standard to visually stand out. This ensures that the plug is clearly visible and identified as the grounding point.
ESD Earth Bonding Plugs can be supplied with any combination of 10mm studs, 7mm studs, 4mm studs, banana sockets, shrouded banana sockets and reverse banana sockets to suit any requirement. All of our bonding products are manufactured in the United Kingdom.

Directions For Use
ESD Earth Bonding Plugs provide a common ground point for grounding using protective Earth in an ESD protected area (EPA). The plug fits into the mains supply socket, making a connection with the Earth conductor only. In place of the live and neutral pins are moulded insulating plastic pins to allow positive location in the socket.
Connectors on the front of the plug are available for connection via ground cords to the various elements of the EPA such as wrist strap cords, benches or floor matting connection cords. This ensures each element is held at a common potential. A resistance of sufficient resistance to limit current to less than 0.0005 amperes (0.5 milliamps), at the highest voltage that may be encountered, should be incorporated. Nominally, 800 kilo ohms are sufficient for voltages of up to 240 volts alternating current (AC). The value of one mega ohm is specified because it is a standard value discrete resistor.
Follow appropriate regulatory or company safe grounding instructions. If overstressed the resistor will open the circuit. It is virtually impossible to misuse the plug, which is permanently sealed. The resistance between the terminations and the pin of each plug is tested after manufacture. The plug must only be used for ESD control purposes. Using mains Earth as the “Earth Facility” is now the most popular method for guaranteeing Zero potential in the EPA.
