On the 20th June, our team member Sarah Baverstock took on the challenge of climbing Pen‑y‑Fan, the highest peak in South Wales, alongside her friends, all in support of Uplands Enterprise Trust (UET), a charity close to her heart. Together, they reached the summit and raised an incredible £850.00 for the organisation.
Why Uplands Enterprise Trust Matters
Uplands Enterprise Trust (UET) is a Swindon based charity that provides a safe, supportive, and engaging learning environment for young people and adults with additional needs. Their work focuses on building confidence, independence, and meaningful life skills through education, community involvement, and hands‑on experiences.
Sarah’s niece has been attending UET since 2024 and has made remarkable progress, developing new skills, growing in confidence, and taking part in voluntary work within the community.
Founded in 2012, Uplands Enterprise Trust continues to expand and evolve its services to improve the lives of young people and adults with additional needs across the Swindon area.
The Challenge: Reaching the Summit
Pen‑y‑Fan is known for its steep climbs, unpredictable weather, and breathtaking views. Sarah and her friends embraced the challenge with determination, teamwork, and a shared commitment to raising funds for a cause that means so much to them.
Here are some photos of their journey and reaching the top of the summit.
